Touch screen interface for car functions. I get that all cars need a screen for the nav, carplay, backup cam. But things like HVAC, Volume, Wipers, Hazzards, AWD mode should NOT require looking at a screen to operate.

It isn’t like the Executive Branch rolled back freight train safety regulations in 2018.

While the FRA draws a lot more water than state level politics, the Secretary of Transportation doesn’t actually directly oversee that department. Which is dumb, but a product of how the whole railroad industry predates most conventional government oversight.

I’m not sure what’s missing here. This is a high level statement from the Executive branch. What else did you expect it to contain? If the EPA and Transportation conduct no investigations and fail to bring enforcement action - then I’ll be disappointed. But that will take time.
