That’s an absurd over-simplification of what QA does and it’s definitely NOT something “a random player” will either be able to do or willing to do. A properly managed QA team will take an OK game and help make it great. A team of “Just do this thing 20 times and log it in a spreadsheet” testers won’t.
QA testing is literally part of the development process, unless you want to release a buggy mess. They should have the same worker protections and decent compensation.
