I guess if you only ride in “clean” rain, no traffic, then it is not an issue, but if you are using this, while riding in heavy spray from the cars in front of you, the road grime in the water inevitably ends up on your visor and when you wipe it off, it scratches the visor. Your visor won’t last long if using those “wipers” often, unless you don’t care for scratched up visors.
