@Wulfe: Nah, it'll be the iPhone 4 VGS ;)

@rebeldevil: So to punish the "evil" companies, you're going to use a substandard network with crap phones? Sounds like the only person coming out a loser in that scenario is you.

@JonThomasDesigns: Chris Hanson only goes after lonely guys who just want someone to talk to.

@Nitesh: Yea, just like the long term psychological effects of a 13 year old having sex with another 13 year old, yet for some reason THAT'S not a crime.

@tylerbrainerd: Why would that cause any issues? It seems more like a freak error than an actual problem with the system. Also, doing FAFSA they allow for a quick and easy login to the IRS and it imports all your tax info to fill out the necessary forms, which makes it a LOT easier than it used to be.

@jepzilla: This certificate can easily be stolen and that makes it MUCH weaker than the current system. Right now, most people don't have a cert so no one writes exploits to steal them. However, if this comes to be, there will be exploits galore to steal certs because then it will give easy access to your bank

@tylerbrainerd: Really? I've had to deal with all of that and it's not a hassle at all (I've dealt with it recently too, since I'm in grad school). Besides, spending a whopping minute getting into a secure site is a lot better than one easy access point for someone to monitor all your online activity and hack into

@theimmc: You can already prove who you are to the IRS by using things such as your existing SS number, drivers license number, the code on your W2, etc.

@Tony Kaye: Well the European thing definitely explains his love of extreme government power. My theory as to why Europeans not only tolerate, but support, such extreme interference in their lives is that, due to their history of monarchs and other dictators, they've been so used to having no freedom for thousands of

@jepzilla: Just because government exists doesn't mean you have to lay down and die and let them do whatever they goddamn please. You have to fight to keep your freedoms from the government - which is one of the principles explicitly stated in the founding of the US.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: With any of those individual ID's they can track ONE thing. With an online ID they can track EVERYTHING you say and do online. With a national ID they can track everywhere you go offline (and if they make it mandatory with cash transactions or banish cash, everything you buy offline as well).

@funkychunky: I'm still waiting for one of Obama's speeches where he declares:

@red pear: Yea, and how many OPTIONAL government programs do you know of?

@d_r_e: Well, he's right - this is a National ONLINE ID system - totally different because it only tracks everything you say and do ONLINE, where with a National ID system they track everything you do and everywhere you go OFFLINE.

@Odin: Yes, just like how Social Security was never going to be used for anything but identifying yourself when collecting money from SS. The government claimed it would never be used for other identification purposes - we all know how THAT turned out.

@RuckingFetard: Wait, Canada is still there? Sorry, the utter lack of anything important coming from Canada causes me to occasionally forget it exists.

@tomsomething: We already have that - it's called Facebook!

@rgt0: Oppression?
