The fact it’s free is why I don’t hate on Fortnite. I don’t play it mind you but you’re playing a game and it’s an option to get those things and there wasn’t an entry fee.

I understand just fine that it’s some awful free to play standard.

My problems are pretty plainly written out.

I don’t know, I don’t see a multibillion dollar corporation charging a close fraction to the total value of an entire game for single cosmetic items. It makes them look very anti-consumer and makes me feel like buying from them is less and less of a good value and more they’re trying to milk everyone.

I mean, at that point wouldn’t a flat subscription wind up being better? Or is that not a sustainable MMO thing anymore.

I don’t play phone games, so I’m going off what I do know.

Maybe I’m old fashioned but when I buy a game I expect that I shouldn’t have to pay to access data that’s already on the disc. I’m not even sure how many games I have that have a variety of costumes/character skins that are unlockable with no means of buying them.

Firstly: I agree to an extent but at the same time this is stuff that you’re often given and this is a ‘cheat’ to get it faster. The problem is they usually make it more tedious to get to make you spend your money on a file that’s already on your machine.

It’s still disappointing to see these ports from NiS be so jank since they’ve got some games I do love. Ys 8 was really good- but the PC port and the localization was horrible enough where they had to redo it.

That’s really unfortunate to hear, NiS really isn’t doing themselves any favors with these ports. :\

There’s also reviews claiming the visuals are using lower fidelity assets. Can’t verify that since I have the Switch version but, given how long they’ve had to attempt to port this game and the disaster that was their attempt to port Ys VIII to ...well, anything, seems to have also gone very poorly.

I can’t exactly edit my last post. I meant that yes, you’re forced to pay to advance faster through the plot by the people who have intentionally made it more grindy to encourage purchase. Just like every publisher who’s stuck this nonsense in.

I wasn’t aware having actual points on a discussion instead of going with feelings was defensive. Then again I wasn’t insulting a stranger instead of trying to talk like you did. :)
