Damn you Star Trek! Fixed now, thank you!
No. It’s a good movie because it’s a great and timeless STORY. Frank Miller’s comic book is an adaptation of that 2500 year story that incorporated stunning visual ideas that Snyder then copied and translated into the medium of film.
No, the ONLY reason 300 turned out to be a good movie is because it’s a faithful adaptation of Frank Miller’s comic book.
It’s still better than the racist, sexist monstrosity that was Temple of Doom.
Not ALWAYS true. Example: While diehard fans of say the LOTR films LOVE the Extended Editions...if they’d shown those in theatres to everyone the reviews may not have been so kind and the casual viewer might have been turned off.
(We try not to sexualize Annie)
Or it’s a dumb retcon regardless of what his orientation was. It’d be just as stupid if Northstar suddenly “became straight”.
I’m still not sure I’m sold on Bobby suddenly being gay (yeah, yeah, Family Guy called it).
Except it is?
See, here’s the bit: The X-Books have a long, long history of being incredibly inclusive and diverse. Always have been. No one is complaining about that, what they are upset about, and rightly so, is an author coming in well after the character’s creation and saying, “Teehee, he’s totes gay now.” I’m bi,…
The last issue of X-Men was Uncanny X-Men 300. Bishop had just recently come, they had just defeated Apocalypse. The Saturday morning cartoons were airing highlighting their adventures from about issues 200-300. Yep, that was it. Everyone lived happily ever after. All these schisms, vs. battles, Utopia, Evil Cyclops,…
bigot noun
It’s not at all bigoted to not be on board with such a drastic character change that had nearly zero build-up and ignores about half a century’s worth of established character growth. It’s pretty clear that Bendis shoehorned it in to fit his own narrative, and it’s not the first time he’s done stuff like this with…
I can’t stand Bendis’ work. No idea how or why he has become so pivotal within Marvel.
The word you’re looking for is “subjectively”.
And he still looks stupid. He looks like the guy the real Joker would off five minutes into the movie.
All I really want to know is: Does your ship work better when you kick it?
