The spending cap incentivizes teams to start spending on next year after they know they have no chance. So every weekend the back markers just show up and don’t really try to improve, focusing money and developing next years car. To me it’s the big flaw in the spending cap rule.

I always thought the Volt was the perfect bridge between ICE and EV. 1st gen had almost 40 miles EV range, 2nd gen had over 50. Covers almost everyone’s commute. And then they have an ICE generator that eliminates range anxiety you get in other EVs. I’m surprised that it wasn’t better accepted.
