Thanks for that, I was not aware of the waiver. It would seem to me that portion of the CAA (the part about states not being able to set stricter standards without permission) is in violation of the constitution. Elsewhere in law the precedent is that Federal Standards are minimum standards and that states can go

The need for the waiver in the first place has been disputed, mostly because CARB pre-dates the Clean Air Act. Even if the EPA pulls the waiver, there is no guarantee that California is just going to give up CARB.

It’s the things like that, that Christian does that make him one of the coolest people in the auto, or any other business. I’d love to sit down with him over a pint, and just listen to his stories. He’s so passionate about his products, the research his group is doing, and the future he sees.

LA smog is a pretty compelling and extraordinary situation.

I noticed that too! What was the story behind the logo being on the model?

If Koenigsegg ever make a battery electric car, they should use the insignia of the World War II Allied ‘Ghost Army’ division.

I find it really endearing and sensitive of Christian to understand how important it is to the men (and women) involved with that squadron in it’s heyday to have their legacy live on. It might live on with a small badge on a super sweet car, but nonetheless someone hasn’t forgotten about them. And neither will any

The $600 includes 8 used but good spec battery cells/modules ($200) and the battery balancer ($380).

I have a good friend who is a cardio-thoracic surgeon; makes north of $1/2 million per year. He still drives the 1996 Honda Civic DX he bought new, when he graduated from Med school. At the hospital he parks his hooptie with the Range Rovers, Porsches, Ferraris, Bentleys, etc... in his own reserved Dr spot.

I think it would be kind of cool if they just used panel-beaters to shape some metal around rocks or wooden bucks or something, the way old style coach builders do it, something like that.

Here's a video of my creation in action - A snow plowing Toyota Yaris, named Crashy. I created a custom lift kit for her and welded up a custom plow frame. She is the best piece of snow removal equipment I have ever owned.

I just finished fabricating a mount for a snowplow I purchased. Here is the finished product. (it took me many cases of Dr.Pepper to make it work) Awe crap, sorry for the sideways picture..

I like this beast, with tracks.

A guy I know in the reenactor circles scored an M4 Tractor off of his cousin or brother for $500. The relative wanted it gone, off the the scrapper! He had no idea what this rig was worth to say the least, even if it ain't sexy as say... a Deuce and a half.

Fiat 126P.. i'd love to import and restore one here in CA some day.
