It would appear that just about every diesel manufacturer has manipulated emissions to massively undermine the intention of the specifation. What matters now is how enthusiastic the Authorities are to sort this out and how good the manufacturer lawyers are.

I do understand how a lawyer could argue that the emissions system doesn’t need to work outside the temperature limits of the legislation. But is this opening up an unhelpful legal prescident?
