He’s a shining light of hope for people under 5 feet.

No one gives a shit about your dog.

That poem says nothing about the sick, and in fact they turned away the sick at Ellis Island. And if you think 1920s America took in boatloads of immigrants for the immigrants’ well-being, you need to take a history lesson.

Exploding?

Not sure if she had kids or not, but if she did, she just recklessly orphaned them, and if she didn’t, she’s now a Darwin award winner. Posthumous congrats.

Is there a major gap in America between where a person starts his life and where he ends up? Maybe for Jay-Z; not for most Americans.

Certain readings of Christianity approach nihilism and essentially posit that human life relative to the vastness of the eternity is so meaningless that nothing people do on Earth merits getting too flustered over. Whether that’s a feature or a bug depends on your outlook.

If you were even half as clever as you thought, Hamilton, you would be an enjoyable read.

What do you mean it didn’t work out well? California passed gun control laws in the wake of them walking into the state assembly armed (which was legal at the time).

I’m repeating something I said to another commenter but as a taxpayer this kind of legal graft is so, so infuriating.

It’s infuriating as a taxpayer.

Because if we pay civil servants to guard federal buildings how are greased-in private contractors going to get rich?
