So what happens in your scenario? The Trump/Putin-controlled US moves to occupy Brussels and rule the EU like Nazi Germany and somehow doesn’t get nuked by either France or the UK?

Once Trump provokes World War 3 and the Northeast corridor is a smoking heap we’ll have lots of unused land that we can repurpose. cf. the Japanese and German rail systems.

Have you taken an Amtrak in the Northeast Corridor? There is no security apart from someone checking your ticket.

You can see them when you land and have to find your way to the center of the city you’re visiting. Unless you conduct all your business at warehouses near airports.

Perhaps you have heard of the New York City subway? The vast bulk of the people who are driving into Manhattan at rush hour aren’t poor.
