I think in the same way that The Room is a cult classic. It’s “good bad” in the lingo of The Flophouse Podcast, but it’s still bad.

This is not a good summary. The “less calories” and “costs the same” points are accurate enough, but it is vegan, and the article expressly describes that this could easily be confused for a beef burger, and estimates that 9 out of 10 would be just as happy with it as a beef burger.
