I think the pivot to Mad Queen might be a fake out, and that Dany will cool off and figure out a solution that doesn’t involve torching civilians.
I think it was cloudy in the preview clip? Maybe that’s the kryptonite of these crossbows: clouds.
It’s the soapiest plot line of the season, but I can’t deny that it makes things more interesting. There needs to be more drama with Cersei’s leadership within King’s Landing. It’s nuts to me that the worst, most cruel leader, with the weakest possible claim to the throne, has armies just lining up to fight for her.…
I just love that there is now a procession of solo assassins all on a mission to kill someone in King’s Landing.
I think we could use someone inside King’s Landing—anyone, really—who is following Cersei, but scared of her, or who is feigning loyalty, but could flip if Cersei goes too far. We should have someone on that wall, even if it’s just one of the archers, look horrified that Cersei mercilessly ordered a lady beheaded. Or…
I’m not a Jeopardy! fan that has strong views about any of this, but it doesn’t seem like a game that lends itself very well to head-to-heads among champions. Both these guys know the questions to at least 85% of the answers. It’s predominantly just a game of who pushes the little red button the quickest, which isn’t…
There’s no meaningful difference between digital and analog on the raw depth of color that it picks up (the much bigger limitation is on how much color you can reproduce on the screen viewing it), and there’s certainly no limitation on how you can grade / white balance the color (the fact that you can do it in real…
I’m a little shocked to see an actual cinematographer complaining about digital being awful - and for that argument to not be remotely specific or technical (it gets “washed up in the computer”). It’s pretty well demonstrated at this point that digital cameras capture really good images. It’s just an aesthetic…
Yes, we know that Sophie T has overtaken J Law as the “it girl” because Sophie’s starring in Dark Phoenix. Whereas J Law is... also starring in Dark Phoenix.
Exception: Jimmy Fallon.
Fuck you, don’t tell me what TV to watch. “2 seasons ago”, for this show, means episodes that aired three years ago. I remember the Mereen story just fine, but I couldn’t pick the bland white dude who had a tryst with Dany out of a lineup.
The Dothraki have been rehabilitated a fair bit since the early days of the series, but I don’t think we are at the level where anyone would entrust them as babysitters, as much as I’d like to see that sequel to Kindergarten Cop.
Lots of fun things that can happen. Definitely one of Jaime/Brienne needs to die, so the other can avenge them. But I think it’ll be the other way around, and that Brienne steps in front of the crossbow to save Jaime. That leaves Jaime still on the board to finish off Cersei. It also gives Tormund and Pod a lot of…
The TV-poetic ending would be a murder suicide. He hugs Cersei and jumps out a high window (some poetic parallels with how one of their kids bit the dust, and Jaime’s one antics with Bran). Or he pours wine into two goblets, Cersei switches hers for his because she’s paranoid, and it is slowly revealed that Jaime…
The practical TV problem with drawing on a character we haven’t seen in so long to save the day is that the show would need to remind you about them in the “previously on” (I don’t remember Daario at all). Once we see it in the “previously on”, it won’t be a surprise anymore.
Yeah, but they were all bad.
The trailer actually gave me some optimism that this movie could be fun to watch, but Sonic himself was not the source of any of that optimism. The human casting seems excellent. I’m totally on board to watch the Jim Carey as Dr. Robotnik movie.
Cops is only just barely older than The Simpsons. Cops premiered in March ‘89, The Simpsons in December ‘89. But the shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show started earlier, in ‘87.
A car movie starring someone who thinks they’re on a mission from god. That feels oddly familiar.
