I came here to voice my outrage at this trolling, clearly-wrong headline, only to discover that Carly Rae Jepsen has a Christmas song, and of course it’s buoyant and delightful because everything she sings is buoyant and delightful.

Kidman co-starred in Batman Forever 23 years ago.

Martin Lawrence has been patiently waiting on set for them to start filming for two years. He’s resorted to making “pew! pew!” noises with finger guns, and dishing whiny quips to a cardboard cutout of Will Smith.

I think there’s a teachable moment in this, which is that guys - particularly famous and powerful ones (though not exclusively) - are totally oblivious to how their overtures are perceived by women, and how horribly uncomfortable it can make them. And I think part of that is innocent ignorance - because it’s a defense

They’re angling for eSports sponsorships, I’d safely assume. Put these in the hands of PUBG/Fortnite/Rainbox6 pros during events, or sponsor a streaming personality’s YouTube, and bask in the glow of their popularity with a new generation of prospective Dew drinkers.

What kind of moving the goalposts horse shit is this. Branden’s comment was that “He should consider applying for an op-ed writing gig at the NYT”. Your response was “because the NYT is right-wing apparently?”. To which Branden followed up again, “The NYT’s op-ed section is a cesspool.”

The Witcher Netflix series is technically adapted from books, rather than from the game (also, it’s Henry Cavil as Geralt, not Kit). The track record of book to TV/movie adaptations is marked with quite a bit more success. Though it might well still suck.

If I never hear another Christmas song ever again, it will be too soon.

I haven’t read it anywhere, but just from observation, it’s used in marketing as a selling point/distinguishing feature. I don’t know how much it actually sways people on the retail floor, other than being an impressive sounding thing that differentiates the $1,500 TV from the $1,000 TV.

I’m not sure whether modern cable boxes support higher frame rates. NTSC broadcasts are classically a 60 Hz signal, which is interlaced at 30 fps.

I understand the allure, when you have a popular game franchise (particularly one with a lot of talent and time invested in narrative and universe-building) of porting it over to a new medium, where it can make more money, and reciprocally invigorate interest in the game.

High five!

Will Byers from Stranger reminds me of something. You know how Netflix lets you pick an avatar for your login? The options aren’t that expansive, but among them are headshots of: Will Byers (Stranger Things), Will Smith (Bright) and Will Robinson (Lost in Space).

As a fellow Will, I concur with the choice of Will Riker, who was “cool” in a way that actually holds up quite well (even though his reputation is being something of a Kirk-like womanizer, he was actually very respectful of women, and most of his flings were with mature, consenting adults, who just found his charm

Leto’s a creep, but this is one behaviour of his that makes sense to me. One of the skills of being an actor is giving yourself up for a role and being shameless about it in the moment. Not wanting to watch it implies a degree a self-consciousness that is very human.

I really, really, really wanna... zigazig ah.

I love the “reveals” of new Porsche designs. A couple years ago Microsoft dramatically unveiled one at E3 in connection with a new Forza. And it looked... the same. As every other other Porsche. Because they all. look. the. same. It’s very slight variations on a theme.

Composites of CGI and real-world elements tend to look more convincing when the color is muted. If you mute the color of both, they seem to exist in the same place. A desaturated, high contrast pallet also hides some of the texture deficiencies of CGI elements.
