I don’t deliberately pay attention to ratings, but saw a summary recently that had Family Guy doing awful numbers (sub 2 million) that would spell cancellation for almost any other show. And it’s not like it’s a critical darling, either.

Why you’d lump Bond and Fury Road into that list I have no idea. Both were (still are, in Bond’s case) famously committed to practical effects.
What I think is great about Kenan is that he exudes such persistent joy and silliness, and its contagious. He has a sort of Jimmy Fallon-like quality of always seeming to be on the edge of cracking up; but whereas Fallon often did crack up, Kenan keeps his composure, and is able to sustain bits much more reliably.
Val Kilmer has been teasing the return of Ice Man for years. What’d you think the scarves were all about? #viralmarketing
What a time to be alive.
This is a bit disappointing. I have a reserve of Leathal Weapon episodes on my PVR, and sometimes watch when I’m procrastinating. It’s not a bad show. Crawford impressed me, as an actor who I’d never seen before, but did a very capable job capturing the charm and charisma of the Riggs character.
That’s a legitimate sacrifice for Wanda, given that her career isn’t exactly booming. There aren’t that many people that can let go of the gravy train that is a hit network sitcom already in syndication.
In fairness, one person watching the show on their own will always misinterpret or mis-remember or altogether miss little details from an episode of TV exactly like this one. Different people will miss different things, but every week you’ll see comment threads filled with people correcting reviewers, or answering…
Except they’re more susceptible to the beanbag bullets, which has always led me to assume that they’re mushier. But maybe this is one of those “best not think about too much”, types of things.
I think Facebook would have been directly influential of these types of posts. Back in the old days, you may remember that every Facebook post was pre-fixed with “I am”. You see that in a lot of the posts above - they start mid-sentence with an active verb. I know for sure Facebook still had the “I am” when I joined…
Wouldn’t it be great if “I really wanna take an iron pipe to Kinja’s kneecaps” was secret code programmed by a disgruntled Kinjaveloper that automatically got you out of the greys?
I find the Hollywood guild rules pretty fascinating, in general.
You say that like these are the Transformers movies, a creatively bankrupt cash-grab. That’s unfair. They’re not high art, but the Star Wars movies have been critically well received, and Rogue One and Last Jedi both took some creative risks that a lot of mainstream fans might have preferred they didn’t. From what I…
“That all seems more confusing than it really needs to be” ...which is all the more reason to think it’s exactly what will happen in Mission Impossible
The trailer for The Passage would have been greatly improved by having Mark-Paul Gosselaar hold a giant fat-batteried cell phone. Then we would remember where we recognize him from and have a good laugh.
David Alan Grier also seems to outclass the shit out of his costars, the writers, the director, the writers, the art department, the editors and the writers.
You don’t have a clue what question I was answering, evidently.
The Donner movies define the Superman characters for a lot of people. The movies hold up well, and for decades they were the only reference points in pop culture for those characters. It was a while before Lois and Clark eventually came along. Adam West’s Batman had a similarly lengthy monopoly on his character, for…
Theme Park I don’t hate. The train yard splits the map in a weird way, and it might be too big, but it still sets up some pretty good fights and offers lots of attack options. Tower is a debacle. I’ve played it maybe 100 times and it still makes no sense to me. Even the name is confusing, because it’s clearly a…
