Person of Interest is a good comparison, because it similarly started out as a pretty bland and formulaic network procedural, and progressively much more interesting and exciting once fewer people were watching. CBS gave it a 13 episode final season to wrap itself, which was kept on the shelf as a mid-season

It’s well shot, but I’d give the edge to either of Legion or Altered Carbon for striking visuals.

I also agree with the sentiment of needing to let go of shows go that you don’t really enjoy, but think the start of season 2 is maybe the worst possible times to abandon a show.

I’m looking forward to reading the think-pieces about how they’re whitewashing the original.

What is the context of this video? There’s an AV Club backdrop behind them, but I can’t imagine Dan and Stew went from New York to a studio in Chicago to record a 1:41 video clip. Was it a convention or something? Is there a lengthier interview posted somewhere?

Pence benefits tremendously from being contrasted with Trump. He has a self-deprecating streak that is so un-Trump like that is hard not to find it refreshing. I mean, his bunny tweeted support for Jon Oliver’s book, which exhibits a million times more maturity then we’ve ever seen from Trump.

There are a couple of telltale differences, but I suspect they’ve probably bumped into each other at some casting calls.

The atmosphere spins with the planet. Otherwise it would be very windy, all the time.

Why are you telling me this.

Based on my rudimentary understanding of screenwriting, the title of this article will be what all the characters in Infinity War will be asking everytime Hawk Eye isn’t in a scene.

Never mind that Spielberg is friends with George Lucas (who no longer has anything to do with Star Wars). Spielberg has a pretty damn close relationship with current Star Wars big wig (i.e., Lucasfilm President) Kathleen Kennedy. She got her big break in the industry as Spielberg’s secretary, they co-founded Amblin,

It’s because he wore a bowtie.

You know what an “implication” is, right? Despite your respect for women, you’re laying an awful lot of blame for pay inequity at their feet.

I’ve never heard of a TV show negotiating actor contracts one season at a time. Standard practice used to be (and I think probably still is) locking them in for 7 years before the pilot is even filmed. That’s why a lot of shows end after 7 seasons.

Whoa, the implication of “They aren’t going to pay you unless you ask to be paid” is that women would get paid more if only they were pushier (never-minding that they have agents to do that for them - sometimes the same agent as the ones representing men who get paid much more, and seem to get by without being

I downloaded Snap Chat once, since I saw that some news and sports organizations I follow were advertising badges for it. I thought, “whatever, let’s see what this is about”.

I guess this is an unpopular take, but I actually liked the Jim Carrey Grinch movie. I’m certainly not saying it’s better than the original cartoon, but I laughed my ass off watching that movie for the first time, when it came out. The sack race scene scored to Chariots of Fire was comedy gold to younger me.

Which was the correct answer, as Amazon has now come out saying that it was an “Alexa, laugh” command being triggered accidentally. Although I wouldn’t totally rule out some of #1; i.e., people deliberately triggering Alexa to laugh, but posting videos of it online that made it look more random than it actually was.

If this is headed to the Disney streaming service, then I’d count on it being something nauseatingly family-friendly (since Disney is very brand conscious, and seems content to leave its grittier Defender series on Netflix). Best case, it’s a teen-centric drama that at least has the courage to experiment with

Tell that to the creators of Fuller House
