This is barely even tangentially Related but I thought I’d mention and someone can decide if it’s newsworthy but

The problem with that quote is the context.

There were more than a few people here that were very adamant that the GOT IP was dead, that the final seasons had poisoned the well, and the House of Dragons was going to be DOA.

I have two thoughts to this

First, I think 10 is too many. I think they could have done fine with the 8 seasons they made of a) they took the break between 6&7 instead of 7&8 and b) seasons 7&8 were 8 or 9 episodes instead of 7&6 respectively.

And interesting tidbit, at 8 seasons GOT and Entourage are tied for having the most seasons for an HBO original.

To be fair, that’s exactly when Benioff and Weiss did worry.

Martin wanted it to be The Walking Dead.

It’s the attempt to rewrite history that bothers me and how easily the entertainment media are latching on to it (in order to bring back the hits that GOT brought in during it’s prime?)

Right.

Disagree.

Is it really necessary to post everything he says when we knows half of it is lies and half it is nonsense?

Yeah, like he seems to be trying to rewrite history and B&W are just keeping their mouths shut until they’re next project launches.
