That’s not surprising. Especially for this exact scenario. I definitely can picture a lawyer arguing that an emancipated minor is an adult in the eyes of the law and therefore statutory rape can’t be charged and then just having to argue consent at that point.

Cera’s performance is missing the part that makes me think that Knives or Ramona would like him.

He’s been revealed to be an asshole since, but, cast 2009 Emile Hirsch as Scott and it’s a better film.

If you can get past the huge miscasting of Michael Cera as Scott, it’s very good.
