I think we should all do our civic duty and go vote for all the Royals

#voteomar

Not sure if you were trying to make a joke against last years AL champs and current rockstars...

Well gang, it just means we have to work harder.

You’re so right!...

Seconded.

Go Royals!

Born and raised in Guadalajara, so I’m more Latino than you’ll ever be. I’m just not worthless trash.

You’re both playing identity politics. Just stop. Being more disadvantaged than someone else doesn’t give you any moral high ground. this is exactly why this crazy lady became black. Because it gave her power in the weird identity politic world of a modern university.

I’m black and I agree. This whole story had not elicited anger from me in the same way as it has others. Is it weird? Bizarre? Sure. Is it disingenuous to hold yourself out as something you aren’t? Sure. But, experience and identity are dichotomous: there is an internal component and an external component. There is

This is some stupid fucking post hoc rationalization for some SJW crusading. Good job; you used your liberal arts degree today!

I think we’re reaching a weird level of double think that I’m struggling to comprehend. Caitlyn Jenner knows as much about growing up as a woman as Dolezal knows about growing up as a black person. Why can the Italian man appropriate a whole lifetime of experiences/struggles as a woman, but the other people in your

I dunno man, putting 99c on the can so stores can’t overcharge was pretty slick

I’m halfway through the other book, and the takeaway is that we’ll never really know. Newspapers were notoriously unreliable, and much of what Al Stump wrote had been discredited. It’s one thing to write a biography and pull direct quotes, but to make it a hit piece after the subject is dead raises a few eyebrows. And

It’s a little hard to get past the idea that the reviewer’s expertise in history and baseball history comes from being a Canadian poet...

This was such an intelligent, well-written, mature comment that I felt bad about reading it without my pants on.

Stump spent only a few days on and off with Cobb and only posted scathing articles about the “true, cruel” person he was when Ty Cobb died and when none of his stories could be refuted. There are also publications detailing Stump fraudulently selling items with forged Ty Cobb’s signature on them as well as forging

He was a terrible human being. There is no doubt about that. Still, I can’t help but marvel at his stats. Only 357 strike outs in 22 seasons, hit .367 career, and stole home 54 times.

That's disappointing. We need a good biography of Ty Cobb. Al Stump's book was one of the best baseball books I've ever read. Too bad Stump fabricated large portions of the work, in part to sell fraudulent memorabilia.

Maybe the umpire brought up marriage equality
