From what my women friends tell me, that is exactly why they’re coming out now. Because no one would listen to them before, but now the nation is listening. Also, because if they said anything, their careers could be in jeapardy. Donald Trump is the most vindictive human being alive.

Considering the backlash typically directed towards abuse victims by horrible people, it’s no surprise they keep quiet. Even if they do go public immediately, the police almost certainly can’t/won’t do anything about it.

There are a litany of articles, interviews, reports about the many, many, many, many reasons why women are afraid to come forward. We would drown trying to read them all.

Just because we’re hearing about it now doesn’t mean these people haven’t been saying it to their friends and families for decades and being ignored.
