Not what I'm saying at all, and a rather reductive argument to stereotype a fighting focused show to Mortal Kombat. Take the Jason Bourne franchise. It for the most part didn't sacrifice its story for the action sequences. In fact, if you took them out, you still have a generally compelling story.

Jessica is already drinking herself to death!

He's going Donnie Darko on us!

Hey, look at Tom Hiddleston. He's played all ranges of characters outside of charismatic and sexy, so it's a little unfair to say Tan would be unable to go outside of what we saw of him in this short scene, especially with coaching.

I practice martial arts (a fairly recent development - not when I was a kid I mean), so I can chalk up my complaints with a fight scene as being too picky at times. But when everyone else is saying it's shit, damn, the show's got some real problems then.

Zhang Ziyi had a dance background which made it easier for her to learn martial arts for films, like Hero, and HoFD. it'd be understandable if you thought she indeed knew martial arts.

It filled my need to see something well-crafted and something with a soul. I forget how good it is, especially compared to new anime I watch.

Sadly, I must sleep. :(

He was speaking Mandarin but switched to english oh so conveniently. Cause you know, why put subs in, people don't wanna read.

That's his natural accent I gather.

Jessica Jones is definitely the strongest show in my book. Very solid throughout.

C'mon, IF could've benefited from full cheese ridiculousness!

That was a great fight scene as well, but like Danny's fight, her opponent was just a little too good. That sliding move was pretty slick.

People are just saying that they would have thought the different approach would be more compelling. Currently, it's not, even at it's most generous, it's pretty meh. Does that mean we're talking about different a character? In all likelihood, yes, but that's like, the point.

I get that you like the show, but they missed the mark on almost everything. A comicbook show about a mystical martial artist really should've made sure the action was great at the very least. If the premise isn't that it's going to focus on fights, then not only did they miss the mark, but they really misled the

Totally agree. The writing team definitely is flailing.

Btw, some people said the same thing about Caity Lotz when she was on Arrow, and while she's definitely not the greatest actress, she's certainly helping to carry LoT.

I said it below (or above), but this has to be a win/win for Tan. His little scene got him attention, and since the show is kind of meh to sucky, it's better that he wasn't cast.

Uhm that's not what I, nor what the excerpt of the interview is saying. That's what you're saying, and that's ok, but like, let's not conflate the two.

But neither is Finn Jones' acting carrying this show though (and honestly, that's a lame excuse people keep using since Danny has been a void of charisma), so I think most people would prefer Tan just for the fights since this is* a show about fights.
