Goddamn it, now we have possibly more awesome "what ifs"!!!!!!

If we assume the writing was the same even if he was in this, then he's better off for it. And his little scene was enough to get the attention he needs. This has gotta be a win/win for him.
We don't even have to imagine. He auditioned for the role and had a much better take on the character:
On a separate note, I re-watched the first episode of Cowboy Bebop, and I got my fill of action goodness from that!
I've been meaning to watch the Grandmaster. Maybe it's time!
Pretty much, but like, did you expect him to lose? The narrative pretty much calls for him to win. But man, I wish they made it convincing.
That guard (or was it a homeless guy?) spoke english too!!!!
And he auditioned for it!!!!!!!!
Plus I love how Colleen just happens to encounter someone who speaks english just so they don't have to do subs!
That's exactly what that approach is suggesting. A different character that would be far more compelling than what we got, and would speak to a community that rarely gets to tell this story. And it's also the story many immigrants experience and would be able to relate to.
Honestly, they can come up with another dynamic, as there's plenty to mine between the Asian-American community and the African-American community. In fact, it's pretty relevant in light of the racist attitudes both communities have against one another, and could provide great discussion starters.
Sorry, should've posted the link! http://www.vulture.com/2017…
He seemed charming enough, especially compared to Danny, and Finn Jones hasn't had great returns in that respect. Plus acting reels might not tell the whole story.
And after they go to China, they seemingly pop back to Manhattan like they just got back from Jersey!
From an action stand point, which should be its bread and butter, it's terrible, outside of two fights, and they're in this episode.
That was actually a bad thing they did in bringing back Lewis Tan. While he was great, and I loved it, it totally threw Finn Jones under the bus and made him look bad. They needed to protect their guy!
Heroine sword fight: Best!
Danny had some lame comeback that just made him seem pretentiously serious. He's just no fun at all.
That guy was Lewis Tan, and he could've been our Iron Fist! I read an interview with him and his approach would've been far more compelling than this crap we got.
And, that guy could've been Iron Fist. Lewis Tan auditioned for the role, and it would've made a far more compelling story from the way he approached it:
