Yeah, couldn't you just see Alfonso Cuarón present a visually stunning tale of age-appropriate Family Circus characters, using a an often skewed mise-en-scène to capture the inner turmoil of childhood and the impending loss of innocence?

Didn't the same thing happen with "The Odd Couple"?  The first season was single-camera, and more realistic (if a bit uneven).  After the first, it was a multi-camera, live audience sit-com that played up the schtick.  I'm not saying it didn't work.  I guess because "The Odd Couple" started as a play, it worked better…
