I’m a forceful strider, too! I wear out my heels in months (if I’m lucky! Sometimes it’s weeks), and I loathed buying at Payless. They tended to fall apart so very quickly.

More $$ shoes let you repair instead of replace them. I have a mid-range pair of heels ($90ish) I’ve had repaired/reheeled 6 times over 15 years and they’re still going strong!

I read that more as the Democrats as a party largely coming around to backing Medicare for all (which is itself significant, since they dropped even the public option in ‘09 when Lieberman raised a stink), rather than it somehow shocking the GOP into rationality.

A week ago people were actually posting those articles about Sen. Sanders proposing a single payer bill. As if the demise of the Republican health care plan was somehow going to usher in some rationality to this issue. I hope we are gaining a clearer picture of what we are dealing with here.
