I’m a forceful strider, too! I wear out my heels in months (if I’m lucky! Sometimes it’s weeks), and I loathed buying at Payless. They tended to fall apart so very quickly.

More $$ shoes let you repair instead of replace them. I have a mid-range pair of heels ($90ish) I’ve had repaired/reheeled 6 times over 15 years and they’re still going strong!

She is a spoiled idiot.

She’s just mixing up “hearing” and “listening.” I mean, in what context would she ever have witnessed him actually listening to anything? For her, the two things are the same.

But I respect the fact that he always listens. It’s how he was in business. It’s how he is as president.

She’s a weasel.

You either live long enough to get a pre-existing condition, or you die at 35 from something totally preventable. Yay!

The fun part about the fight for single payer is you get all the same opponents form the Obamacare fight (insurance companies, healthy well-to-do consumers) and add to that some new ones (doctors, hospitals, drug companies).

I take this so fucking personally. If they do this, people like my boyfriend, who is using Obamacare while freelancing and trying to get hired somewhere permanently, will have to spend their entire salary on drugs just to live. JUST TO FUCKING BREATHE (asthma) AND NOT DROP DEAD IN THE STREET (insulin-dependent

I read that more as the Democrats as a party largely coming around to backing Medicare for all (which is itself significant, since they dropped even the public option in ‘09 when Lieberman raised a stink), rather than it somehow shocking the GOP into rationality.

Not sure if it still is, but the No.1 cause of bankruptcy pre-ACA was unpaid medical bills.

Still trying to treat healthcare as a consumable service, I see... because it’s been working SO WELL.

A week ago people were actually posting those articles about Sen. Sanders proposing a single payer bill. As if the demise of the Republican health care plan was somehow going to usher in some rationality to this issue. I hope we are gaining a clearer picture of what we are dealing with here.

Eventually we’ll get to the dream: being able to pay for something that bears the name “health insurance” but that in no way insures your health.

I know and voting against the Brady Bill? Not supporting gun control after Newtown? What the holy flaming fuck.

If he felt that strongly about being independent of a political party, then he should not have pretended to be a democrat. You do not get to whine about party support when you have done absolutely nothing for the party. No one was keeping him from running for president as an independent.

The Gawkerverse has a really uncomfortable streak of building up and tearing down young (mostly white) famous women. I’ve always thought it disconcerting at the least, and overly woke posturing at the worst, all at the expense of real people where the punishment doesn’t really fit the alleged crime.

We definitely were aware it was wrong in the early 2000s when it was Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton. I don’t believe for a minute that anyone just wasn’t aware that posting pictures of someone’s exposed genitals when they haven’t agreed to having the photo taken or shared is wrong. It doesn’t take an

I don’t know why try-hard became a thing.

That was weird. I also found it strange that the author tries to justify (at least a little bit) posting the invasive photograph in 2012 by saying that we as a culture didn’t wake up to how horrible stuff like this was until 2014. Ummmm, what? No, I’m pretty sure most of us knew well before then that it’s not OK to
