Did he have to go where his ‘life would be in danger’? Obviously not, it wasn’t necessary. The ‘necessity’ of whether or not he should have people assaulted so he can have a photo op isn’t even going to be raised?

Wasn't most of the clearing carried out by DC police or Park officers? They ain't Secret Service agents. So why should they get the same protections?
Big one for me....how did they manage to create a giant wall around the cityusing a crane....did the zombies just decide to stay put and wait to be trapped inside.? That thing wouldve taken weeks to build....just made no sense. If they had at least had an entire army encircling the city providing constant cover…
The last act just... no.
It sounds like they took it as far as they could before they were told that it’s squik.
I liked the first third, and then Act 2 bored me, and Act 3 was just bad. I’m legitimately begging Hollywood to stop giving Snyder movies. He cannot make good films. (Obvious spoilers)
Well it does have resonance.
I remember one of the production team excitedly revealing there was zombie rape in the movie and decided to pass on this one.
100% agree on all this.
This whole movie was Zack Snyder trying to out-Zack Snyder himself and missing the mark entirely. I try not to expect too much from zombie movies, but if a name director is going to throw three hours of one at me I’m going to be expecting the bar to be raised at least a little bit.
Or Snyder just wants to dump as much sequel bait as he can in to this regardless of if he has a plan or not.
For me the biggest twist of this film is finding out that there are still people out there who can be disappointed by Zack Snyder.
That was one of multiple interesting things in the plot that Snyder had no interest in exploring and seemingly forgot to cut before they started shooting.
I was doing my best to give it a fair chance, for I have an immense love of flashy stupid movies, and then Sean fucking Spicer showed up.
It’s another stupid mystery box that Zach Snyder shoehorned into the movie, that goes absolutely nowhere and makes no sense.
I watched Dawn of the Dead for the first time in 16 years instead. It’s a really good film, and Gunn’s script is great. Snyder is clearly fighting an urge to use more and more slow motion, but the movie looks good and it’s very effectively done.
I know there is a better, 100-minute movie in there somewhere,
He is on record saying that this IS his cut. So if he does that it will be very interesting!
Why do soldiers in zombie movies never wear some sort of full body armor / kevlar / firefighter suit that leaves no skin exposed? Not saying it would have protected against a zombie tiger (!), but seems like it would solve 90% of the problems with standard zombies.
As with every single one of these movies . . . .
