Oooh, I never thought of Fillion as Flagg, but he'd be awesome.

"God is cruel."
King is on record as believing in God but he doesn't adhere to a particular religion. His views on God seem to be mostly informed by his life experiences and how he sees the world and the human species…which apparently led him to write the line above in Desperation.

Goddamn hippies.

If HACF hadn't been a summer show (nothing else to watch), I probably would've deleted it from my DVR after Episode 2.

Well, I have finally come to the end of all these comments, and so far not one commenter has spelled "Mother Abigail"'s name correctly.
And you call yourselves King fans. Shame on you all. Shame.

There's more than one person who saw it and didn't love it.
There were a couple scenes that were a little creepy, but Kubrick was entirely the wrong director for that story. That novel remains to this day the most terrifying book I have ever read, yet Kubrick managed to make a completely flat, bloodless film out of it.

She really was inexplicably bad in this miniseries. But to be fair, Frannie is an irreparably shitty character.

And air, I suppose, unlike the book.
I haven't watched any of the series since the pilot ep, because it sucked so much I was afraid my windows would implode.
The book was crap too. I love Stephen King, been reading him since I was a teenager and still buy all his books; but by God he sure is hit-and-miss these days.

Please see my comment about Tommyknockers above. It was just a horrible, irreparable mess. Cough medicine again.

I think it would be much better if the entire world just forgets The Tommyknockers was ever written.
That's one of King's novels from his addict days, when he was chugging cough medicine, and boy does it show.

The Stand miniseries was not well-received in 1994.
I re-watched it a few years back, and had much the same reaction I had in '94: I found the first two hours riveting; the rest was pretty meh. Just like the book!

Deliberately breeding any animal for deformity is completely disgusting, and should be a crime. What is supposed to be "cute" about this video of cats who were deliberately bred as cripples? It just makes me sad.

Volcano vs Dante's Peak
Red Planet vs Mission to Mars

With me these days, it's Money Never Sleeps, because the first time I heard that it beat out "They can take our lives but they'll never take our freedom!" as the most stupid, inane non sequitur I had ever heard in my life.

I can't quit this stupid show, and I don't know why. I have no explanation. This bothers me.

Sadly, if the series follows the books, Nora the Sidepiece survives.
On a related note, that actress, whoever she is, is fucking terrible.

Not any more. Well, maybe just once more. I hope that's how Ex-Wife gets turned.

Which is a much better way of expressing what I was trying to say in my earlier post. After slogging through two books and most of the third, that was a major disappointment

Kevin Durand's character is my favorite part of this whole shitshow and he is the main reason I keep tuning in. That, and some dark, terrible impulse to harm myself.

I hear that it's already been given a second season, yes.
