I totally see where you’re going. In MK9, In the story at least, Johnny Cage chose not to kill Baraka, But I like to think that anything outside of story mode is just a big What if. Its the same reason (**Spoilers**) why Liu Kang and Kung Lao are shown as being older in MKX.

Dude, he's 52. Yeah, it's old, but it's not THAT old. I mean, Johnny Carson didn't retire until he was 66. Leno wasn't forced out until he was 60, and then he returned for 3 or 4 more years after the Conan debacle.
