I mean, people lose their collective shits over various mobile games as well.

Well, most people don’t know that, but I concede your point.

I don’t expect everyone reading this to listen to the whole pod but at least read the excerpt before you comment. Chris’s whole point is that if the video game industry had a more transparent atmosphere, fans would be more educated about the realities of development changes and cancelations and so on, and therefore

I love baseball, and I agree.

Ya know, at the start of the game, BOTH pitchers are working on perfect games. It really is rude of any batter to try to get a hit in that situation.

Of note: Those “Recent video from Deadspin” posts are NOT an April Fool’s joke.

So here’s a thing I’ve been thinking about:

My theory is that some fans didn’t like the movie for philosophical or thematic reasons, and to justify their distaste, they applied a level of scrutiny to the movie that no other Star Wars movie could possibly hold up against.

That, and a good segment of fans just clearly lost perspective on what’s important. These

I listened to a friend rant about what he wanted to see from Luke and it was literally no different than what happened in the movie. Also a lot of fans were very hurt their theories about snoke and Rey weren’t right so they’ll find any reason to dislike it.

I swear most of the complaints about TLJ are at best nitpicking (i.e. how the bombs worked) or, at worst, was explained in the movie, required basic critical thinking skills (i.e. Leia’s spacewalk and Luke’s Force Projection), or was never that important to begin with and were hyped by Abrams and his mystery boxes

I’m going to guess you actually had nothing to do with it.

This Wagner person sure is fascinating.

I wish I was a spider so I had 6 more eyes to roll at this comment.

It’s not a participation trophy...

Kind of the whole point of Vincent’s arc is that he’s a scumbag deadbeat, and the choices you make to be a better or worse person. Wanting him to be totally nonchalant about it would be OOC.

Does it really treat transwomen as shit, or does it just portray Vincent as an asshole? I didn’t play Catherine (still meaning to, it’s sitting high up in the pile:P) but my understanding is that he’s a selfish asshole, so this’d be in character.

Is there a chance the guy is very hetero and that such an undisclosed, important bit of information is really throwing him off? Should he just shrug it off, flip over and say, “why not?”

Yeah, I’m pretty committed to the idea that $26M over 6 years for a top prospect is ridiculously, ridiculously cheap.

Given that the Angels have him for $500k and change per year for 6 years, I’m sure the Angels would be pretty happy if he “just” turns out to be Hideki Matsui.

For what it’s worth, I think the only reason the West/USA doesn’t consider it dorky as well is because the Star Wars franchise niche’d itself into that font. They’ve ran with that shaping/thickness for so long no one bats an eye on its usage.
