Star Ocean: The Second Story. By far the best entry in the series.

No it doesn’t. They made an announcement saying they’d be less restrictive, but there was zero followup. For one example, the recent release “My Girlfriend” was removed and banned by Steam for nudity and sexual content.

That may be true, I haven’t checked. They were just the example I used because they’re the ones who seem to get the most upset about Steam censorship. It may have been a poor example for this specific case.

There are absolutely many NSFW mods in the Steam Workshop. I’ve stumbled upon quite a few while looking for Darkest Dungeon mods. If that decidedly non-sexy game has NSFW mods, I’m sure others have plenty.

So, is this the end of NSFW mods/patches on Steam? The VN folks are going to have a field day.

So... is BioWare doomed? Will EA ever let them do another narrative heavy singleplayer game, or are those done?

Man, what happened to Star Ocean? Second Story remains one of my favorite games of all time, but everything else in the series seems to range from “just okay” to “complete disaster”. Was it just a one time fluke?

So this guy is tired of the negative publicity he gets from being the guy that founded the nazi shooter hangout, and he wants to just wipe his hands of it? Does he think suddenly he’s going to get this spotless reputation as a paragon of goodness?

Any hint of a release date on this?

Bald men are not a historically marginalized group. Furthermore, your example doesn’t involve a stereotype used to justify oppression of the group in question. “Mentally ill people are evil/violent” is a stereotype which has been used to justify poor treatment of the mentally ill.

That’s the point. It’s offensive because it’s an inaccurate stereotype of a mentally ill individual. If it was a stereotypical representation of a racial group, you couldn’t excuse it by saying it “does not represent the state of racial identity in our world”. Same rules here.

I played 2 before 1 and I don’t feel like it diminished my enjoyment of the experience at all. 2 is definitely the superior game, but 1 remains worth playing.

If you lost a digit, I’d say that’s not a “complete recovery”. But you’re otherwise correct. Still, not a recommended experience.

It’s cliche as hell, but mine is to write something good. Something that lots of people read and enjoy. Ideally a novel, but these days I’m mostly just writing short stories. I just want to make something to be proud of.

Because of my work I have dealt with the aftermath of many, many shootings.

Things like this really make me hate people. Why? What’s the point of such cruelty to a couple just trying to live their lives?

Great list, but it could use some RPGs. Final Fantasy 4 and 6, along with most of Quintet’s library, basically taught me to read. A fun text-heavy game can really motivate a kid to broaden their vocabulary.
