100% agree. I get being cynical about big corporations adopting woke-ness as a means to sell products, but I think it’s still a big deal and legitimately great when they make the deliberate choice to center ad campaigns around groups who have been shunned and ignored. Especially when there are still so many companies…

I don’t care if it’s a publicity grub, big companies do those all the time and have zero obligation to also make them socially aware. Not sure if this will actually be an ad shown on TV or just a web exclusive, but this may very well be the first depiction of a trans man that Joe Everyday has ever seen. That is huge.

Your last line nailed it.  People have acted like assholes in pursuit of a much smaller piece of the pie, so if she wants to look like a unicorn farted her out, after it rode the rainbow down to earth, and act like a decent human being, I’m OK with that.

Your argument isn’t so different from the people that blame rape victims because of what they were wearing, or who they were with. No one asks for their nudes to be uploaded publicly, just like no one asks to be raped. And many, many people’s likes have been ruined by revenge porn. So fuck you.
