I was introduced to and started liking Anita Mui a year or so before she passed away. My family were fans and my dad had watched her and her sister Ann perform when they were very young. The Heroic Trio and Wu Yen were really fun to watch.

I like her films with Tsui Hark as well. I remember seeing pics of a reunion dinner she had with the Butterfly Murders cast, including Lau Siu-Ming and Eddy Ko. It took a while for me to adjust to seeing a young Lau Siu-Ming in the film the first time around, since I’d grown up watching him in much more recent work.

She is! And I really hope that they bring the play to Toronto or Vancouver eventually (its probably wishful thinking). The preview, shot during the initial 2015 run in Hong Kong, could have been longer, but it looks great and the show seems to be doing well to positive reviews in China.
