See, this is a layman’s perspective, but I’m not that familiar with the movie (apparently it’s really good!). I took “fire crotch” to mean something more intimate than just being red-headed, and wouldn’t blame anyone for being mortified by such a reference, or its resurrection, after you’ve been through years of shit,

That’s always bugged me, the “Where Are They Now?” obsession. They’re elsewhere, don’t want to be famous anymore, and leave them the fuck alone, like you would any retiree. Pretty simple, right? Vanilla Ice is a contractor? Good for him.

Yes, and not only that, but the new show would have to address his absence, which would either a) consistently remind his siblings/family (common knowledge, mostly, but they were all real siblings [twins, obviously, but the sister as well]), or b) recast them, and constantly remind his siblings/family of that loss

Right? The whole “Frasier, a show people apparently and baffingly liked at some point” angle is curious to me, and more indicative of writers who maybe shouldn’t be covering pop culture as a career.

Yes.

I agree about Carell, but respectfully disagree on the documentary style. Yes, there’s a suspension of disbelief in terms of capturing candid moments, but it’s the small, slice-of-life moments the documentary aspect adds to it, I think.

I was just about to post this:

Thank you for that.

Two favourite AD jokes (some paraphrasing):

I’ve always hated the “Where Are They Now?” sort of things. Vanilla Ice is a contractor. It’s not always a step back. People need normalcy, and I don’t envy being under a (much bigger than it used to be) spotlight for one’s entire life.

I’m 37 and male, which was not his demographic at any given time. I grew up as any normal teen (thinking that boy bands suck, etc.) and he had three moments where he impressed me. #2 was when he was in the movie Alpha Dog, which, although a movie I don’t love, one I found him the best part in, and liked him in The

My thoughts, exactly. That was actually a half-decent mea culpa from someone who’s a much-less-than-half-decent-person when it comes to everything else.

He got a bad rap. I liked him, and his ‘Keep it 100'.

Sure, but people do dumb things when they’re young. Unless this was recently, of course.

“I AM THE ONE WHO CLEANS!”

Shame. I always thought Ashton Kutcher was one of those ‘secretly really good guys’, in that he went to medical school to cure his brother’s undiagnosed illness, and then became a face of combating human trafficking.

There *will* be a Family Guy about this.

Minus the meltdown, I’ve always felt Brad Garrett to be the exact same.

I agree. I was in college at the time, and at least one of my Black classmates felt terrible for him. (Not that she speaks for everyone, of course.) . It doesn’t come across as deep-seated racism to (admittedly white) me, but that he was someone with anger issues who was being heckled and didn’t - as you said - have

What a miserable write-up. Sorry this ruined your day, two years ago.

Sounds interesting, and thanks!
