I have no legitimate complaint about the name, although aside from sounding kind of dull for a brand new ocean, it doesn’t fit with the logic of naming these things. North/South Pole. Arctic/Antartic Circle. Arctic/Southern Ocean.

Anyway, fired/blunder, etc.

Betty White will like a word, in 30 years when it starts getting close.

My first North America-centric reaction was that “Southern Ocean” does not sound cold.

Based on the headline, I can’t be the only one who thought someone tried to throw an actual monkey wrench at the band, right?

Ditto. Ryan Dunn always seemed like the mellow, likeable one of the group to me, RIP. I was quite honestly never a fan of Bam Margera at all, but if it’s at the point where he clearly needs help, then I certainly wish him the best. (Not that you wouldn’t as well, of course.)

Don’t forget Fear and Loathing posters!

The last few years of the Daily Show gave me that vibe as well. I like Jon Stewart, too, but I feel like the adulation (understandably) got to him a bit, at least to the point where he just seemed to be hamming it up a lot of the time. The show on the whole just felt noisy toward the end, at least to me.

Also credit where it’s due: I thought the line, “If curiosity killed the cat, let’s kill a thousand cats to figure out why” was inspired.

I think I’m just enough of a luddite that I prefer figuring it out on my own. Until it drives me nuts, that is.

I get that people make mistakes (and he did apologize) but he could have at least told the girl first instead of making her find out with everybody else. Yeesh.

Agreed. I just had to make myself remember that he even had a studio audience in the first place.

Vago and Breihan make it worth it, too.

I’m really getting fatigued by the whole ‘Someone with more talent and insight than I will ever possess expressed themselves, but let’s see if they got it right this time’ screed by the most paint-by-numbers dullards who are lucky to have been born on the right side of the social justice tracks, and couldn’t make

That one took me a minute. Also, yay, it’s working again.

One positive to take from this story: This, and comments like it have gotten the most stars by a country mile.

I get the ‘Kinja sucks’ thing, but it really is just a terrible platform.

I found that to be maybe the most disgustingly misleading headline I’ve ever read on this site.

Random question: Has anyone else noticed a problem with Kinja (aside from..)? The links in the notifications don’t actually load to the comments. Been like that for the last few days.

I spent the entire series going, “That’s ______, right? From Band of Brothers, first scene of The Hurt Locker? The fuck is his name? Mark Stone? No, that’s not it.”

Huh. Yup, that’s a good point.
