I am one sad, sad Spud. DEVO was a game-changing event in my young life, and warped my brain in the best possible way. Some good friends of mine and I paid tribute to DEVO at a Halloween show in Seattle in 2009 and had the best time tearing through their songs. "It is not nuclear bombs we must fear, but the human mind

FRESH is so DEF.

I am a tree.

Or make LIKE a tree and get outta here.

Or "Hold Onto Your Genre". That would blow me away. "The Sweat Descends" would also be tremendous.

Also featuring Seth Jabour and Syd Butler from Les Savy Fav. Noice.

The vagina (pronounced vajinia, hilariously) is nature's pocket! It's natural, and it's responsible.

Huh, I'm in Seattle and the new episode aired (our affiliate is KCPQ, aka "Q13"). Weird.

I was honestly surprised and a bit disappointed that Teddy didn't end up having a fear and hatred of magic. I managed to scare up a vinyl copy of one of their albums, titled "Counting The Beat" in the US and it's fantastic all the way through. Well worth tracking down if you can find a copy for a decent price. Great, fairly extensive post on them here:

Phil Judd's post-Enz work in The Swingers is pretty great (although Phil himself has had some, well, troubles in recent years):

CSI handles turntables even better:

Al taught me to shoot for the stars. Or, barring that, the sun visor of my Camaro after a quick handie (thanks to Ron Donald from "Party Down").

People forget, forget they're hiding behind a Christmas in Hollis.

I will help fund this only if it's hosted by the GPK Movie's puppet for Windy "Dusty Farts" Winston.

Yeah, and I have to say that the show really made me respect Tammy Faye a LOT after watching the episode in which she talks to a group of LGBT fans at a bookstore. She was so sincere and accepting of her audience that it blew me away.
