My aunt came across these gems a couple months ago for my truck. Kinda curious if I can still cash in on that lifetime warranty.

I have this system in my Mazda 6. Brakes are no different than the other models. The alternator is what charges the capacitor. I dont know how much fuel, if any, it saves me but it has a fun screen to watch showing it charge and dissipate in the menu as you drive along. One downside is it takes a unique battery vs the Read more

Half the miles but twice the smiles is a fair trade and the math checks out

True but it is a Mazda still haha. I plan to add a Miata to the garage in a few years and am not sure how I will deal with half the range

I wish I could take fall photos like that. My pictures look like summer almost all year.

584 miles is the most but usually get between 450-550 miles per tank

Well that’s one way to ruin a weekend. Hopefully it is never found as I’d never trust a vehicle that was stolen again.

I’ve looked into it but I only see it working out if your daily gets horrible mileage and you rent something with better for a long distance trip. I dont see it working out in the vast majority of cases. I’d prefer to drive the car I know most everything about on a long trip than one I just picked even if the cost Read more

I can see that making a huge difference. This is the most powerful car I’ve owned personally. Driven many cars with double or triple the power but never for more than a few days/weeks at a time.

That’s really unfortunate. Hopefully it wasn’t a hit and run as most parking lot run ins. Mine has been in two accidents and recently acquired a lovely 4in door ding I need to polish out.

For sure. I’ve got the house itch now which has replaced my used to be daily car search.

I’ve had 4 adults and luggage before a few times and felt it was adequate but certainly not excessive and takes planing unlike when driving a hemi Ram that’ll pass anything at anytime. I am a very conservative driver compared to most so I know I have lower expectations for speed and passing. Read more

I travel for work a fair amount and don’t take a large number of local road trips so all the rentals except for when my car is in the shop have been outside of Texas.

That’s the plan! Going to run it until it dies. That’s a huge amount of miles. I’ve put another 15k+ on rentals over the same period which helps keep my miles/expenses down.

Thanks! I’m sure those 4 years will fly by as I cant believe I’ve been driving mine for over 3 already.

See for me, the turbo would make me look elsewhere if buying today. I don’t need the extra power, decreased fuel economy, and increased cost of maintenance that comes along with it. I have never felt that the NA 2.5 has been under powered and it was one of the reasons I choose the 6 over competitors. Most only have Read more

Love the leading pic. I took mine out for a photoshoot the other day and only realized after I headed out that I once again forgot the grab the ram head. I’ve only ever remembered for one shoot years ago and it bums me out every time I notice.

Thanks for the info and advice. I unfortunately wont have to space to do any significant work for at least two years but would have no issue tearing into it myself if I did. Ill likely just continue to keep an eye out for a new cab/bed with little to no rust and make the swap once I source one and have the time/space Read more

Yeah, that was my thought as well and the quote was from a restoration shop as typical repair shops dont have the experience working with repairs like this to make me feel comfortable in getting any work done.

I’m already aware I’ll likely be putting 20-30k into a 15k truck by the end of it. It’s a family truck so it’s a money pit but I want to keep it but not be ridiculous. Being unfamiliar with metal work I was unsure the cost or even a general idea but was already thinking it would be cheaper/easier to find a replacement Read more
