The local-to-this-show NHRA-sanctioned track, Thunder Valley Raceway Park, has weekly test & tune and Friday night grudge races all season long. The Friday session is $15 to race. $15. That's it. Test & Tune? $25. Their heads-up series? Entries vary by class from $50-100, but pay out down to the quarter finals level.

Really Tavarish? You couldn't find a sixth reason to buy an MX-6? Do you even care about the quality of your headlines?

"...the fact that the NHRA was founded to give racers an alternative to dangerous public roads."

I'm not blaming the NHRA. I'm just pointing. Out the need for a middle ground. I have bigger brakes on my mountain bike than most class specific race cars do. However my twin turbo 61 galaxie has 14" 6 piston brembos up front and 14" 4 piston brembos in the rear... I don't need a chute.

The older looks much better. Having said that, I'm so glad the slider is back.

Lou Amundson (NBA) used to ride a bike to practices. I think he used to bum rides off his teammates to get to games.

How in the fuck have I spent most of my life in the snow belt and never heard of this?

I'll just leave this here

I'm all for natural selection, as long as I don't have to pay for other people's mistakes. In this case, idiots that don't wear their seatbelts cost money.

All of your examples are cases where it would affect other people, therefore, should be regulated. Me alone in my car, does not.

I wish that were so. My '12 GTI has remarkably poor visibility. My '86 GTI has superb visibility.

This has always boggled my mind, too, and all the brands do it!

Actually, it is a symptom of safety regulations, specifically the one which requires a certain amount of clearance under the hood for pedestrian impact safety.

I know my view isn't shared with 98% of the general population, but I'd GLADLY risk the minute possibility of being less safe in a rollover if it meant I'd live in a world of gorgeous greenhouses.

The one I hate is the Euro pedestrian safety regulations that are making every car rather tall and bulbous up front. This leads to really high beltlines and cars that increasingly difficult to see out of. At some point there has got to be a diminishing return when more accidents/fatalities are caused by lack of clear

That combined with pedestrian safety regulations have totally ruined how most modern cars look.

I came here to say this. I'm tired of being behind someone with a dead tail light and not being able to see if they are stopping and turning or just an idiot.

That was his best joke, in my opinion. Followed shortly by Achmed.

You got it backwards DM.. An aircraft with indicated airspeed of 85 mph at 5000 feet with a standard temperature is actually doing 93 mph over the ground. This assumes zero wind. Study your wiz-wheel (EA6B computer)

Hellloo- I'm Tail light boy himself and thoroughly enjoying this thread. You do make an excellent point and I'll explain why the terms model names match what I say exactly. In order to avoid any confusion with the audience hearing one thing and seeing a variation on the sign (eg if I said "S-class" and the researcher
