Little birds told me that they use your psn name as the identifier unlike where most things have a unique id instead (numerical, etc) so basically changing the psn id would also affect a lot of things that would break stuff like online purchase licenses, etc. Extremely bad design.

You can set the mini-map to ‘click-through’ so your character will not run to the location you have clicked on the mini-map. I did that after a half-dozen instances of that exact same mistake =)
