I guess they finally took a look on youtube and saw that channels like MCM get millions of views, way more than most car shows except Top Gear and TGT. The “real” format draws enough enthusiasts for the shows to get to that level. TV shows have to have the time crunch, 15 part build wouldn’t work for TV.

IMO he’s definitely one of the worst, I just saw a video of him talking about money (which coming from youtube car guys who “made it” I can’t resist the BS). He said social blade is pretty accurate in that regard.
My main personal goal in becoming successful is so when cars become driver-less and boring I will be able to afford a track car and membership at a track. Track driving will become the next golf (although golf is losing players every year).

I know of 2 car youtubers with sizable fan bases that live in my city. If I emailed them and said “come out and film my RWB Porsche build” they would be there in a heart beat with their dolly shots and EDM soundtrack.
