I just needed to see the headline to immediately start hearing "Mel Farr Superstar for a far better deal!"

It's worth noting that the fatal dose of regular over the counter Tylenol aka Acetaminophen is surprisingly low. After I heard a This American Life about horrible accidental overdoses due to things like parents confusing teaspoons with tablespoons when treating kids at 3 in the morning, I went through my medicine…
I agree. It's a lot like Dennis often comes up with schemes that seem smart at first, but then you realize that they're only smart when compared to what the others think up.
After the reveal at the end, I wondered if that was true, or if the producers, whoever they were, had just put that in to make him seem like a murderer.
I've started reaching out to family and friends and started talking about what we're doing and figuring out what we else we can do together.
Absolutely. The closeness of the Presidential election and the huge jump in activism is a sign to the Wisconsin State House that they need to be scared. The GOP has won because of low voter turnout, but now they're seeing real signs that things aren't going to be the same as last time.
The message is getting through, but don't stop. They're coming around to the fact that playing nice gets them nowhere with these people.
Awesome. If I may make a suggestion as far as phone calls, do a couple of things.
I think Michelle "Missy" Gomez would be the perfect pick, in part because she is a tremendous actress, and in part because I would love to see the hoops they would have to jump through to make it work.
That kind of sarcasm toward glorious Russian TV Station sounds like something an Uzbek would say. You're an Uzbek, aren't you?
Here is one of the best things people who aren't ready to go full-out activist can do — start to network with friends and family. Build relationships with people who are friendly, interested and supportive around the same issues. Share information, commiserate, ask questions. The more they know people are behind…
Really well said.
I think everyone can agree that the real victim is their poor daughter, Scottie. What a messed up childhood she had.
Bogus copyrights are pretty common too. Warner and others made millions from a bogus copyright of Happy Birthday to You until a lawsuit finally forced them to drop their claim. It's pretty easy to file or buy a bogus copyright and then sue anyone who does something that's perfectly legal, on the assumption that…
I have the sickening feeling we're going to see our President in a cheap, watered down version of Fitzgerald's The Crack-Up (only with less self-awareness) in the next few years.
Star Trek was a network show, so they weren't going to show much straight up brutality, but it was loaded with Kirk manly man style sexism, and Sci Fi and fantasy of the 60s in general was bursting at the seams with brutality against women. But you know what, there were strong voices among the dreck of 60s sci fi for…
It's easy to dump on them, but they're actually not a giant undifferentiated bunch of meatheads. They know they're doing something the rest of the world thinks is weird but they go ahead and do it anyway. They're actually not that different in a lot of ways from the people who got dressed up for Star Trek…
Probably better musicians. Definitely more creative lyrics. I also think (not kidding) the ICP have taken more aggressive stands for tolerance in the past few years than the Dead did in their entire career.
I wish I could upvote this a million times. If you can get past the really crude language, the ICP actually very openly hate racism and sexism and homophobia in their own unique way.
I never understood why Peter Jackson didn't stick to exactly that premise with all of the Hobbit movies. I suppose it was to pad them out, but I could quickly tell that as soon as the focus shifted away from him being the awkward outsider everyman doing his best, everything became absolutely dreadful.
