i know it kinda weakens my argument, but i didn't want to say i LIKE the new suit. I just read many comments that seemed to suggest that any departure from the original look would be bad. He has to look different for simple Marketing reasons ("it's not the old Robocop"). But given that need, and the need for a current

I'm sure there's gonna be elements that will be recognizable. But that collar? The cape miiiiiiiiight stay, but the collar will definitely be reduced. though i do like your dialogue :D

is 5e going to be more MMO like? haven't followed the news, would be the death of D&D in my opinion...

aside from the rules, how does the worldbuilding of Pathfinder compare to Faerun/Eberron/...? Are the rules easily transferable to other campaign worlds?

was thinking mainly about wishes, but it's been a long time for me as well (tried to begin again with a lvl 7 group, made it as far as lvl 10 and drifted apart)...

no restrictions on spells?

hey, I'll be the first to cheer Hamm, seriously like the guy, and i want the movie to succeed. i even debated myself on this point, right in this thread ;)

haven't really been to those meetings, but 4e was so similar to WOW/MMORPGs that i kinda feel no real tabletop players were present at the conception. "we're losing customers to WoW... so let's just ditch our established game and make it more like the stuff the kids play online. What could go wrong?"

I was so frickin excited for 4e back in the days, and majorly disappointed when i saw how much it took away from roleplaying. Copying WoW for pen and paper guys was never going to work. Combats were always fun beforehand, but never the most important part of our sessions.

as i'm being reminded of the costume, i'm pretty sure Marvel will tone it waaaay down. It'll probably retain some elements, but no way will we see that collar. Or maybe even any cape..

depends on what they do with the holograms. if it's just a few seconds of old pictures, yeah why not. But if they have a plot function, that's veeeeeeeeeeeeery close to a new movie suffocating because it cannot let go off old stuff.

is this part of the audition tape for Dr. Strange? The likeness, uncanny. That's .... MAGIC!

but maybe i'll have to debate myself on that one. The fact that Hamm is so well known as Don Draper might make it easier for him to portray the pre-magic Dr. Strange, and thus easier for moviegoers to take the plunge into that totally different aspect of the MCU.. even though GoG is scifi, it's pretty much in line

Don Draper channeling Dormamu? No disrespect to the acting talent of JH, but i'm sceptical that this would work... so no way, no how is this going to happen. There are other superheroes Hamm is better equipped to play.

so how many decades will it take for Congress to change policy based on this insight?

like i said in another comment, now that technology has advanced some over the last 30 years, it would be quite useless to put the Robocop of olden times on the screen. He has to look sleeker, move faster, etc. If current Youtube-Videos have better looking robots on screen than a movie called "Robocop", the studio

but technology has advanced? Why wouldn't a Robocop extrapolated from our current technology be way ahead of the original Robocop?

maybe the original Robocop wasn't my kind of Scifi, and i do get many of the arguments that have been made in the past months, but come on guys, you cannot seriously expect the design to not include the design upgrades of the last 30 years?

CJ is right on the money. The powers that be have set up huge walls between the movie and the tv franchise... i know they are the same continuity, but AoS won't get visits from Tony Stark, or even mention him. Marvel wouldn't limit the audience for Winter Soldier by requiring people to have seen AoS to understand it.
