What the fork? No mention of the The Good Place reference?
What the fork? No mention of the The Good Place reference?
I saw someone say that Ella shouldn’t find out about the celestial until she dies and is greeted by God (Lucifer) in heaven... and is basically like, “Lucifer, why are you pretending to be God?” So now I love that idea lol.
Oh shirt, Heaven having a profanity filter means one thing, this whole darn show's been a Good Place prequel.
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that! The only way Mr. Said Out Bitch’s reappearance could have been any better. *chef’s kiss*
That nod to The Good Place was so subtle and gave me a huge smile - which was already there because it came from the lips of Mr Said Out Bitch.
I just want to say how much I appreciate knowing that Heaven in Lucifer's universe has a forking profanity filter.
MAZE: Which favours do you want me to call in?
This episode made me an unabashed admirer of Kevin Alejandro as actor and director. His acting this season was already doing that, but man, this episode . . . Top-notch every minute, every word, every expression. His reaction to Lucifer has been much more painful, in part because (unlike Chloe and Linda) he got it…
So, we all know that somewhere in all of this, God’s gonna let Maze know that she’s grown a soul, right? And (though I hope they don’t go there), I can almost see her hooking up with Dan before this is all over...
I was really impressed by the glass wall shattering while the time was frozen and the particles being moved by the bodies that could move, but then immediately returning motionless as soon as an active force stopped applying on them. I don’t think I ever saw this concept visualized this way before. Even more impressive…
As much as I am very excited to see Haysbert in the role, I thought they already had a God. Didn’t Neil Gaiman play Him back in Once Upon a Time? Or does that not count because it was an alternate universe?
That effect with the frozen broken glass was pretty spectacular.
And I loved how he blithely shot himself again just to make sure.
This show has always been about dysfunctional family, but this season drove it home even more then ever, with the addition of Michael as the “bad twin” to disrupt everything. His ability to undermine confidence, sow doubt, create chaos, and wreck relationships with a few words was terrifying.
Very excited for a new season of Lucifer! I am a little apprehensive about how this season will go, but coming off of the stellar fourth season, I have hope that it will be great. And thanks for taking the time to write these reviews, LaToya!
Amenadiel namechecks Zauriel!
Nitpicks, but why did they bother showing the front license plate fall off at the gas station, or Midge covering the recorder at the end so no one would take it?
