There is a safety factor to it, like being able to see through the windshield and keeping it clear especially if you need to break out the ice scraper. That takes hot air coming from the defroster and a cold engine can’t deliver that.

No RV here, but when I launch I keep the truck very close to the dock and turn wheels hard away from the dock. The idea being if the parking brake should fail, the truck would only drift back inches until the front end hits the dock or curb so it doesn’t go into the drink
