NFL on QBs: “Tackles must break the laws of physics or you will be penalized.”
Looks like we’re gonna have another player retire at half time.
I think the league is fine with losing a few defensive players if it means keeping marquee quarterbacks playing.
How hard is it really to just tackle the quarterback and float away? It’s not rocket surgery!
At least he won’t be able to kneel for the anthem for a few weeks.
I blame the injury on the airbag not deploying during the Carr crash.
How should have Mathews have tackled him? It was literally textbook! He had the ball, it wasn’t after he threw it, he had the ball, it was a tackle! As a bears fan, you should be worried that you spent all this money on Mack, he won’t be allowed to sack anyone if this is how they’re calling it.
The NFL is only killing itself faster with this stupid rule
Is the solution going to be that defensive players have to not tackle quartebacks but just hit them hard and hope it is enough to make the quarteback fall in such a way that he will be down? This rule is such bullshit.
What is he supposed to do here? I legitimately have no idea
He moved his head to his left and out of the way as he hit Smith. Last week he extended his arm to soften the impact. Both were clean hits.
You mean don’t tackle the qb? Even blandino, former head of officiating, said it was BS!
Fucking bullshit!
DID THE PLAYER MAKE A BASKETBALL MOVE
It’s amazing to see a sports league be able to actually improve its rules, as opposed to making them so muddled and crowded with terms that you can’t even figure out what a catch is.
He diode the way he lived... full of energy.
I know there are a lot of jokes to make about this story, but how terribly sad for his family and friends. What an awful way to go.
At least he was able to fulfill his childhood dream of being a conductor on a train.
