I’m reviewing the episode, the same way I’d review any episode of television or film. For Bake Off eps broadly speaking it comes down how exciting is the episode, was any of it very funny or moving or sad, were the challenges interesting ones, was there a great triumph or a devastating defeat. Was it a good episode…
There have been a lot of incredible moments on Legends, with them summoning a massive Beebo avatar Captain Planet-style to fight a time demon, but the most meta thing the show ever did was:
Going back in time to when Lord of the Rings was filming to recruit John Noble so that he could record lines pretending to be a…
Those are definitely two superior musicals!
Dear Evan Hansen works on Broadway about as well as Green Book works in theaters, which is to say that a whole lot of people loved it and it won awards and accolades and a whole lot of other people have been calling it baffling morally-bankrupt trash from the beginning.
It’s a great show in general, but as far as I know, The Expanse has never even been nominated in a technical category. That is difficult to wrap one’s head around.
Keri Russell is the one that hurts. Particularly for the Americans’ last season, which was just a magnetic performance where you just felt trapped in the paranoia of her character’s life. I haven’t caught up with the Crown yet, but Claire Foy better melt the damn screen to have denied that woman her Emmy.
“Now she's just a corpse with worms for eyes. Same as when she was alive." I'm going to miss Braugher in this role so much. And that tattoo reveal!!
I’ve been missing Pembleton for 2 decades now.
would just like to take this moment to reflect on how widely and completely hated andy samberg was when this show premiered, and how through 8 years he appeared to charm pretty much everyone. excited to see where he lands next.
IT’S THE ONE CASE I CAN’T SOLVE
I loved the buildup to Terry doing the Kool-Aid man busting through the wall to save them, something that is quite easy for him. What a joyous, perfect moment.
Amy and Rosa ruthlessly and unapologetically double crossing each other and then exchanging “I love you”s might have been my favorite thing. Maybe my two favorite TV cops ever & even better together
Most relatable line of the episode was Jake asking to be put back in a coma after finding out Amy got back with Teddy
I’ve said before that, if you were to reboot Police Squad/The Naked Gun, the only reason Andre Braugher wouldn’t be a perfect casting choice for Frank Drebin is because B99 already let him do exactly the pivot to comedy that made for Leslie Nielsen’s best work.
Needling detail: The blackdown curtains weren’t closed in their hotel rooms. So the little sunlight that came in was OK?
I was a huge Homicide Life on the Street fan even though at first I had to sneak up to watch such inappropriate material on a school night.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the balloon arch callback. VINDICATION is definitely one of the all-time BNN moments (I even made a video meme with it at one point).
That is like the vampires on What we do in the Shadows not believing in ghosts
