To be fair, Frank Welker, Tara Strong, and Billy West are not puppeteers. They don’t have the specific training or experience necessary to take on the role.

Terrific, well-balanced article. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed. I am soooo tired of the argument “You just don’t like B v S because you’re predisposed to hate DC!” It’s not true. Nothing would make me happier than a well-made Batman and Superman movie, because I’ve followed those characters a lot longer than I’ve followed Iron Man and Captain America. But if it’s not good…
I don’t think it’s about Disney not liking money; I think it’s about them not biting the hand that feeds them. George Lucas basically gave them the ability to print money for themselves over the next several decades, in form of at least six new movies, merchandise for every possible product, the ability to make new TV…
I think you’re missing what a lot of people are missing: It’s not the regular Rod Stewart-esque opening for “Enterprise” that trent100 posted, but the mirror-universe episode version. (I admit, I was confused at first too.)
I love this whole article, but especially this:
While I agree that “The Avengers” and “The Dark Knight” belong in the top 2, I think “Spider-Man 2” is a joyless slog. It frequently gets put in the top 5, but it’s unfathomable to me. “Iron Man” is way more entertaining. (I’m glad it made your top 10, but I don’t think it belongs several steps behind SM2.)
ANDROMEDA is definitely my poster child for that. How is it that we live in a universe where ANDROMEDA ran for five years and had 110 episodes, but FIREFLY only ran for 15 episodes?
If you want to know where people’s affections truly lay, though, go to the mall and see how many stores have FIREFLY videos, board games,…
Charlie, thanks for the revised article, which is very well-balanced and thought-provoking. I agree with you that the impending wave of mediocre films capitalizing on JW’s success will not be fun to watch. I think you’re absolutely right that filmmakers need to take more time to develop sequels, as they did with JW…
“Timecrimes” and “Timecop” over the original classic “The Time Machine”? That one should have been in the top 5.
SLIDERS. With an infinite number of parallel universes, the show could have honestly run forever like DOCTOR WHO. But instead, the network (and the producers brought in to replace the creator) systemically found and removed every single thing that worked about the show until no one cared anymore.
Personally, I thought that scene was awkward and clumsy, like the rest of that episode. "Deep Breath" was easily my least favorite episode of the season.
It's exactly because it *was* a one-off that we don't need all the answers. How would it have helped the scene, or the episode, if we saw just another alien under that sheet?
Not knowing who or what was under the blanket was precisely what made the scene so creepy. If it had turned to be just another monster made out of prosthetics, the terror of the moment would have been ruined.
Dear reporters everywhere,
