There’s a general election campaign still to come and I think Bernie’s long history of vocal support (however principled) for various, imperfect left wing causes around the world would feature prominently in attack ads, whereas Trump already indicated that his master plan relies on recycling old lines of attack

There are no perfect candidates but Hillary has -objectively- been subject to more scrutiny and more vindictive nonsense than any politician in my lifetime (I was born in the 70s). The fact that she’s still going strong is impressive.

At Bernie’s age, he should avoid potential cardiac risks.

There was a british comedy show which posited that Tom Cruise woke up scientological after John Travolta whacked him in the head with a shovel.

When I hear “Houston” and “road rage” I half expect it to involve rascal scooters.

Oh, God. Typing in a moving vehicle = Wheeled Vomitorium

Oh, great. This song is stuck in my head now.

When I was a kid they showed it on TV every Christmas. It was satisfyingly weird. I like the song, too.

“There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done...”

By William Butler Yeats.

I bet when she showed up John Cusack said:

She’s gorgeous. Jealous much?

I’m not even casually familiar with most of this stuff, I just recall that for years it would pop up with some regularity on the news that UK military acquisitions had been made more expensive than they needed to be because of special modifications, leading to cost overruns and maintenance bottlenecks and so-on.

I suppose the UK govt will add some non-standard bullshit to the spec which favours some british supplier of military widgets and drives up the price. They like doing that.

I’ve eaten two Pot Noodles in the last 18 hrs, voluntarily and of my own free will. They are neither entirely good nor completely evil, just devastatingly convenient.

She’s rockin’ a great ‘do, these days.

as I said: “Slightly”. Though they are also more likely to pay lip service to the pro choice position and it varies from one politician to another. There’s political opportunism involved, too. The lure of sometimes staking out the opposite territory to your opponents.

Rest assured, in Northern Ireland there is plenty of christianist zealotry to go around. The main obstacle to change is probably the protestant unionist faction since the Irish nationalists are left-wing and slightly more sympathetic to the pro-choice position. Albeit, only slightly.
