“Trades” in quotes because all deals go through MLS headquarters, all players sign with MLS, not teams. Fake league as always, run as a hedge against competitive soccer by NFL owners.

This reminded me of the book High Rise by J. G. Ballard. The tenants of a high-rise apartment block basically go feral and form packs, defending groups of floors against other packs.

The hubris of the NFL is such now that they’ll trip over their dicks eventually. Maybe an obstruction of justice conviction would do it. The NFL is pretty much a crime syndicate at this point. And even at that not even one with particularly high morals.

As an old person sometimes worried about today’s yutes, I approve of this activity.

Western Civ IS dead.

The NFL is the worst of the US in microcosm.

Democrats just now learning about the Electoral College are some of my favorites. Also, Obama’s health care was a purely neoliberal project. That’s why I’m expected to fucking “shop” for health care at a Web site. Losers.

If the NFL cares about its public image to anyone but Fox News grandpas, they’re terrible at it.

Well and the fact Deadspin doesn’t work for him. Does he want his money back?

As MLS does everywhere it can.

This guy should be wearing an orange jumpsuit and picking up trash along the highway.

Yeah our friends the Saudis bomb the crap out of it pretty continuously. Altho ask Carl Hiaasen to be sure.

MLS, USSF and SUM (largely the same thing) keep the US Open Cup small because they don’t own it. It’s that pesky single-entity thing, ie., closed leagues. The US Open Cup could be like March Madness in basketball, except 100 times better, but that doesn’t put money in the pockets of the US “owners of soccer.” many of
