Everyone I know from Cleveland left. They’re good people. Maybe Cleveland is as bad as its reputation. You’re not disproving the theory.
That’s a comment a minute based on when you posted this. How many people do you think are on Deadspin at any given moment?
Do you need a safe space?
Should these articles come with trigger warnings for your delicate sensibilities?
I never had much of an opinion about Cleveland. And always figured it got mocked for the same kind reasons people near me mocked New Jersey - tenuous ones.
I’ve learned from this comment section there are a ton of racist assholes in Cleveland. So..fuck Cleveland.
Fuck off, from anyone who thinks real people are more important than cartoon logos for sportsball teams.
Does lil jonnie need a safe space?
ALL LIVES MATTER!
The owner decided. There wasn’t a TON of pressure - though probably some. He just felt weird having a team named Bullets in a town that was one of the leaders in gun violence at the time.
I’m happy getting rid of Wahoo, and addressing these other points later.
They might/probably have merit, but talking about it now only does two things:
1) Take the heat off of Wahoo
2) Make even more people nervous about changing the logo, because “What if they change the team name, too!?!?!?!?!”
This is some good 21st century racism.
