The kawasaki Z400 makes it really tough to look at a Grom as an only bike, as much fun as I know it’d be.

There are so many variables it’s hard to tell. You’d probably be fine, and if people are doing 60 in a 45 give them the finger.

assuming that the thrust won’t exceed the grip of your tires or the surface you’re on

I mean sure, but if we’re just spitballing here why not add some kind of wing-like appendages and drive it really, really fast so it could get some lift and maybe travel above the ground???

I believe it’s mostly that OEM equip their dual motor variants with larger, gripper tires and nicer wheels that are not as aerodynamic as smaller efficiency rims.

I got it - a monorail.

Dammit I was going to make that joke. Take your damn star.

I’m with you. I’m reading the post and thinking, ‘Why the EFF is this stuff being hauled by truck anyway when trains doing the long-haul hauling could hand off the goods to trucks once they reach the destination?’

next you’ll tell us it would be more efficient too!

Better think through why you proposed this, because people are going to accuse you of having a loco motive.

This idea is crazy, or as our Spanish friends would call it, loco. This idea is also about moving things, or as the ancients called it, motion. Therefor, your idea should be called locomotion.

so you want to build a tunnel with a line of Teslas to haul goods??

thank you.

yah, sorry, can’t picture it

That simply can’t be done, you’re asking for too much.

James Watt approves this joke.

Shhhhhhhhh!  I’m tryin’ to work on my Smokey and the Bandit reboot over here and I need these things to wander about for stunts.

I would assume that a car with a front motor can recuperate more energy, but it could be that in consumption cycle driving it doesn’t brake hard enough to really compensate for extra weight and friction.

I have a dual motor Tesla and the only time the front motors are used is when I give it significant acceleration. The most efficient models are the single motor ones. The longer range in the dual motor models is a result of larger battery capacity in those models.

But in both cases, the cost was $0, which is why I’m confused how there could be any costs in the first 3 months (unless the numbers are for the cost to the manufacturer, not the owner).
