I go back and forth about whether the Prequels or Sequels are worse. They’re each unwatchably bad in their own special way. Episodes VII-IX look better and I think their CGI will stand the test of time better than that of I-III, but OTOH, at least the prequels were made by someone who cared about the story and

I think that’s kind of a different thing. Airlines (and sports teams) don’t want you to slide up to better seats because then people will stop paying for the better seats. The individual ticket holders who grouse about it, however, are not actually suffering any damages, they just like grousing.

This is basically what they do already. It may not be for the 1st tier loyalty members, but certainly for the higher tier ones. I’d wager half the first class seats on any given flight are probably upgrades.

I would think it would be a better idea from a PR standpoint to offer a free upgrade to passengers who are a part of the airline’s loyalty/rewards program whenever they cut off booking. It makes the first class seats look more sought after to other passengers if the seats are full, it makes the upgraded passenger(s)

Nah, they could have gone the other route and had Rey be a Kenobi. Then have a Kenobi and Skywalker finish what their grandfathers should have.

This is really a problem of the airlines’ own doing.  By charging to check bags they’re basically begging us to drag everything on board - and as much of it as we can.  Can you imagine if your first checked bag was free but each carry-on was $20?  This article wouldn’t even be necessary.

JJ has a problem of having to make the stakes high, but in the least effective way possible. Ep7 had that problem with moving the New Republic to 5 planets that JJ’s going to blow up 10 minutes after introducing them to make the heroes feel bad. Then, rather than take out a planet that people actually care about in

Honest question: why the demonization of amazon while patroning other not exactly angelic businesses?

But the whole reason why airlines over book flights is because of duplicate bookings. It’s more common for business flyers to double book flights to provide themselves with some schedule flexibility than the scenario discussed in the post above (tickets purchased through corporate accounts have less restrictions on

This stunt is one of the reasons WHY airlines overbook in the first place

Daylight savings time in the winter? The later sunset would be nice, but the sun wouldn’t rise until 8:30am.

So of course, plenty of diehards (and cast members) wanted to turn the Death Star on him. To their presumed relief, the reins have been passed back to J.J. Abrams

I genuinely don’t know what they could’ve done to steer this home in a satisfying manner. What expectations could they subvert? Have the heroes lose? Have Rey fall to the dark side? Have everyone just decide “maybe screw this” half-way through the movie and give up? Have Kylo Ren talk to the audience half way through

I saw this film, and did not enjoy it. If you see it and do, that’s great. Despite my personal feelings, I would never begrudge someone gleaning 140 minutes of enjoyment out of this hard, cruel existence.

Jaws was right at the cusp when aluminum cans were taking over from steel. Crushing a steel can actually made sense as a form of macho display. Aluminum, not so much...

We don’t care if it’s the first act of “Henry the Fifth,” we’re leaving.

I like Young Frankenstein better than Blazing Saddles — I think Brooks thought through Frankstein to a better degree than Blazing Saddles, and all of the humor of Young Frankenstein reinforces itself better than Saddles.

You watch your ass.

The roots/spouts are the parts with concentrated solanine. There’s been more than a few murders where the murderer collected the spouted eyes of the spuds, dried them or steeped the, and used the results to kill some one. Green tinged skin isn’t going to hurt you but the sprouts can.

Uh, the sprouts are toxic, you can have a violent reaction to them almost immediately. I’m not sure why the article doesn’t mention that.
